Essential Omegas
Essential Omegas
Essential Omegas are a source of omega-3 fatty acids in their naturally existing ratios from Atlantic anchovy. They are:
- Purified through distillation.
- PCB and heavy metal tested.
- Used in naturopathic practice for the prevention of chronic disorders associated with deficiencies of the omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
- Essential for mood support, mental and cardiovascular health.
Omega 3 is not made by the body, thus, regular consumption of oily fish such as salmon, sardines, mackerel, herring and anchovies is advised. Taking a supplement form of Omega 3 means that daily intake can be measured and dosages may be increased when required.
Our bodies use EPA to make "prostaglandins." These support the body to function by:
- Controlling cell growth.
- Supporting kidney function.
- Assisting in hormonal balance and reducing symptoms of PMS.
- Regulating calcium movement.
- Regulating blood pressure and blood clotting.
- Supporting the immune system.
Similarly, DHA is the most abundant Omega 3 in the brain and retina. Half of the total weight of neuron cell membranes are made from this essential fatty acid. These support the body to function by:
- Regulating the heartbeat.
- Regulating brain signals.
- Supporting moods.
- Improving cognitive function.
- Aiding infant and child growth.
- Regulating cellular processes, such as insulin release.
Take 2 soft gels (2 times a day) with food, or as recommended by a healthcare professional.
At the recommended dose (4 softgels/day), one bottle of Essential Omegas will last 30 days.
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are two well-known omega-3 fatty acids that have a functional role in mood and a structural role in the brain. EPA is a precursor for signaling molecules which assist in immune function, but also reduces anxiety and depression. DHA is the most abundant omega-3 fatty acid in the brain and retina and comprises fifty percent, by weight, of a neuron’s membrane lipids. A supplemental dose of 1-3 grams per day is recommended, or as tolerated.
