COLON CLEANSING HERBS
KNOWN BENEFITS
Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) bark
As an antiparasitic it has long been known that the bitter constituents of wormwood stimulate the gustatory nerves in the mouth and increase the secretion of gastric juice and bile, thereby promoting appetite and digestion
Cascara (Rhamnus purshiana) bark
The mechanism of action is twofold. Firstly, there is stimulation of colonic motility, resulting in increased propulsion and accelerated transit of faeces through the colon. Secondly, there is an increase in water content in the colon.
Turkish rhubarb (Rheum palmatum) root
Rhubarb appears to be an invaluable addition to any herbal program. Its laxative, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anticancer, liver and cholesterol benefits make this herb extremely valuable as a medicine.
Black Walnut (Juglans nigra) green hulls
Black walnut is used to treat parasitic worm infections and certain other infections including diphtheria and syphilis. It is used to expel tapeworms and other internal and external parasites.
Cloves (Syzigium aromaticum) bud
Cloves deserve a place among the great healing herbs like Wormwood and Golden Seal. With a combination of benefits such as anti-parasitic, antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral, it makes a perfect addition.
Psyllium (Plantago ovata) seed husk
Psyllium is classified as a mucilaginous fiber due to its powerful ability to form a gel in water. This bulking fiber acts as a sponge, absorbing water and waste material in the bowels. Psyllium husks significantly increase the level of stool moisture and both wet/ dry stool weight, this is why it has such great effect at relieving constipation and improving bowel health.
Slippery Elm (Ulmus rubra) bark
The demulcent mucilage of Slippery elm provides a protective, anti-inflammatory, and healing coating to mucous membrane surfaces. It reduces inflammation and irritation.
(Aloe Barbadensis) Leaf
The plant has revealed the presence of more than 200 different biologically active substances, with many actions, including a mild laxative effect, but it is especially well known for healing a restoring damaged tissue, including in the gut.
Chia (Salvia Hispanica) seed
A great source of dietary fiber which is beneficial for the digestive system and controlling diabetes mellitus with a higher concentration of beneficial unsaturated fatty acids, gluten-free protein, vitamins, minerals, and phenolic compounds.

DIGESTIVE TONIC HERBS
KNOWN BENEFITS - Click Ingredients Below To See Research
There is enough literature to demonstrate peppermints use for medicinal purposes, for the symptomatic treatment of digestive disorders. Studies show relaxing effects of the smooth muscle of the digestive tract, enabling the release of entrapped air, plus analgesic and anti-inflammatory action.
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) seed
In clinical studies, fennel has been shown to decrease spasms of the intestine and to reduce crying time in 85.4% of infant subjects observed. It is also an effective diuretic helping to remove acids from the body.
Pineapple (Ananas comosus) extract (Bromelain)
Bromelain aids digestion by enhancing the effects of the digestive enzymes trypsin and pepsin. It can also help to prevent heartburn and ease diarrhea if either is caused by a deficiency of digestive enzymes.
Papaya (Carica papaya) extract: Papain
Papain, the active principle in papaya that exerts the ulcer-protective effect. Plant enzymes (such as Papain and Bromelain) have been extensively investigated as meat tenderizers. They help improve digestion.
Kiwifruit (Actinidia chinensis) whole fruit
Another source of Digestive enzymes. In one study dietary actinidin from Kiwifruit increased gastric protein digestion and accelerated gastric emptying for several dietary protein sources.
Ginger (Zingiber officinale) rhizome
The mechanism underlying ginger’s activity is not clearly understood, but it is known for reducing nausea and bloating. Five double-blind studies have been performed that demonstrate a positive effect of ginger on motion sickness.
Cayenne (Capsicum annuum) fruit
The active component in cayenne (Capsaicin) inhibits acid secretion, stimulates alkali and mucus secretion, and particularly intestinal blood flow which helps in the prevention and healing of gastric ulcers.
Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) root
The findings of one randomized double-blind, placebo-controlled, clinical trial on the root extract of licorice revealed a significant decrease in symptoms scores in almost all individuals symptoms and was found to be superior to the placebo group in the management of functional dyspepsia (indigestion).

LIVER CLEANSING HERBS
KNOWN BENEFITS - Click Ingredients Below To See Research
Barley grass (Hordeum vulgare)
The beneficial effects observed in chronic disease may be related to bioactive compounds contained in Barley Grass such as superoxide dismutase (SOD). SOD plays an important role in protecting against environmental adversity, as it supports the liver's detoxification pathways.
Globe Artichoke (Cynara scolymos) root
The pharmacological and therapeutic effects of the artichoke on the Liver had already been well known in the 17th century. Modern studies started in the last century confirmed the stimulating properties of artichoke extracts on the liver and gallbladder.
Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) root
Results of one study suggest that the extract of Dandelion root has a protective action against alcohol-induced toxicity in the liver by elevating antioxidant potentials. Dandelion can also increase bile secretion from the gallbladder by up to 40%.
Cilantro (Coriandrum sativum)
This herb is used for its ability to remove heavy metals from the body. Researchers found Cilantro (Chinese parsley) accelerates the excretion of Mercury (Hg), Lead (Pb), from the body through the urine.
Chlorella (Chlorella Vulgaris)
Biosorption has always been reported as a promising method to treat various kinds of pollutants. Microalgae is one of the most important biosorbents and Chlorella can absorb a high concentration of lead. During the removal of Amalgam (mercury) fillings chlorella can be placed under the teeth. This helps to intercept particles and to chelate dissolved metals that seep under the dam.
Golden Seal (Hydrastis Canadensis) root
Known as the healer and sealer of the gut, Goldenseal is a powerful bitter herb and can be used as a bitter liver stimulant. Multiple bacteria and fungi, along with selected protozoa are susceptible to berberine, an active component in Golden Seal. These include Helicobacter pylori, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus among others.
Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) seed
Milk Thistle is totally unique in its powerful effect of liver protection. It also acts by stimulating liver cell regeneration and cell membrane stabilization. It has absolutely no competition in the pharmaceutical world. In fact, in cases of poisoning with Amanita mushrooms (which can destroy the liver), milk thistle is the only treatment option. The list of toxins that Milk Thistle can protect the liver from is far too long to list here. An important herb when detoxing.
